Oregon — After months of rumors regarding who could buy one of the largest ski resorts in the Pacific Northwest, it sounds like Mt. Bachelor won’t be changing hands after all.

Yesterday, POWDR announced that it has decided to keep Mt. Bachelor as part of its portfolio.

POWDR plans to work on various projects in the near future, including upgrading the power capabilities at the ski resort and completing an Advance Wood Energy building. In addition, they’re adding a Kids Ski Free pass, which is available with the purchase of an adult unlimited or outplay passes.

“We’re excited to continue our stewardship of the resort and serve the Central Oregon community with truly one-of-a-kind skiing,” said Stacey Hutchinson, the spokesperson for POWDR.

Back in August, POWDR sold Killington Resort & Pico Mountain to a group of local investors. In addition, they announced that three of its ski resorts would be available for sale: Eldora, Mt. Bachelor, and SilverStar.

A group that made a lot of noise regarding their interest was the Mt Bachelor Community, Inc., which is led by a few locals. While it appears like they had the money, POWDR didn’t seem interested in negotiating with them.

While the door is likely shut on anyone buying Bachelor for now, POWDR is still interested in selling two of its properties: Eldora and SilversStar. The town of Nederland is looking into acquiring Eldora, while some unspecified parties have expressed interest in buying Canada’s SilverStar.
