Neihart, MT — Choosing to become a multi-mountain pass partner has become an easier choice for ski areas. It was once an option for the biggest ski resorts and those closest to metro areas, with many choosing between Epic, Ikon, or Mountain Collective. In recent years, the Indy Pass has made it easier for other mountains to attract skiers from outside their typical reach. This has led to one family-run Montana ski area that previously said it doesn’t plan to join a pass changing its mind.
Last week, Showdown Montana announced that they’re joining the Indy Pass for the 2026-27 season. To keep ticket prices affordable amid rising costs, Showdown is trying out the Indy Pass for the year. Because the Indy Pass runs on one-year contracts with partners, it gives Showdown a chance to run a trial. The Montana ski area will black out their Youth Ski League Saturdays, which are typically their most crowded days.
The response to the move was largely positive, with Showdown passholders being excited about what this could mean for their pass benefits. Here’s what one well-liked comment had to say about their video message:

New Partners
So far, Showdown is perhaps the biggest new U.S. partner Indy Pass has announced for the 2026-27 season. New partners include Kendall Mountain in Colorado, Powder Ridge in Connecticut, Skeetawk in Alaska, Skiland in Alaska, and Snow Resort The Cupid of Romance in Japan. No, I have no clue how that Japanese ski resort got that name. Overall, Indy plans to add more than 50 new partners for the 2026-27 season.
A major keynote announcement by the Indy Pass is planned for tomorrow (September 8th).
