New Englanders, Mainers, and those looking to take a summer bike trip to Vacationland should all be looking into Sugarloaf‘s newest feature, the Sugarloaf Bike Park. Mountain biking has been a staple of summer and fall at Sugarloaf for over several decades, but July 4th weekend will mark the start of the mountain’s first public lift access riding.

With opening weekend coming up so soon, Sugarloaf dropped the brand new trail map for the park, including the mountain’s newest trails. The bike park is accessed by the Whiffletree chairlift, allowing riders to access the brand new intermediate flow trail (Boulder Dash into Emerald) and eventually the beginner Syncline set to open in the fall.

While there will be only one freeride trail to begin the park, Sugarloaf already features multiple technical trails around the mountain, including several difficult and expert only runs. However many of these trails will require an uphill ride to access.

Riding at the Sugarloaf Bike Park will require a day ticket or season pass and the full-service Sugarloaf Bike Shop will provide mechanical work, essential gear like full-face helmets and pads, and rentals for those without their own gear. The park will open on Fridays and Saturdays from 10am to 6pm and Sundays from 10am to 4pm beginning the weekend of July 4th.
