Westernville, NY — The lake effect has created some magical conditions this season at New York ski areas like Kissing Bridge, Snow Ridge, Titus Mountain, and Woods Valley. For Woods Valley, it’s created a reliable snowpack that will last awhile. So far this season, they’ve received 297 inches of snowfall. This has resulted in a snowpack of between 30 inches and eight feet. Woods Valley plans to remain open daily through April 6th, and could stay open longer than that depending on demand.

NewsChannel 9 WSYR Syracuse
travelled to Westernville to chat with Tim Woods, who’s the owner of Woods Valley Ski Area. In the interview, they discuss how this season is going, what their spring schedule will be like, and their major offseason project.

The biggest headline from this NewsChannel 9 report was that they have a big project planned for this offseason. Woods Valley announced that they will be replacing their 1964 T-Bar with a new quad chairlift. This is the same T-Bar that was damaged by a heavy snowstorm earlier this year. The quad could be the one they acquired from a Pennsylvania ski area back in 2021. However, they haven’t installed that quad yet, so I assume this is the quad that Tim is referring to. The New York ski area plans to begin work on the project this spring and aims to have it open for the 2025-26 season. More details about this project are likely to emerge in the months ahead.
