After the Matanuska River destroyed this Alaskan town’s traditional July 4th parade route in 2005, the parade organizer Arnie Hrncir decided to replace the pageantry with something a bit more dramatic, he launched his wife’s moose‑damaged Volvo off a 300‑foot cliff. That is the origin story of the annual 4th of July The Glacier View Car Launch and it is truly one of the most unique Independence Day traditions our country has to offer.

Cheers to the U.S. Coast Guard who performed a flyover for the massive crowd celebrating America’s 250th birthday. A total of 33 vehicles were launched this year and it was rooting tooting full throttle American celebration of family, friends and FREEDOM.
