High-quality Gore-Tex jackets are a staple of winter outdoor sports. They keep you warm, dry, and prevent you from overheating with a material that blocks water droplets while allowing water vapor (your sweat) to pass through.

But jackets made with the material can be highly expensive, costing several hundreds of dollars for even the more basic ones. Men’s Arc’teryx Gore-Tex shells, for example, start at $400 and climb up from there.

Greg from GEAR:30 TV decided to see if he could make his own high quality waterproof jacket with just $37 in materials and his own sewing/design abilities. The results are much better than you could probably imagine.
