Ten Sleep, Wyoming — This past spring, a Wyoming ski resort got a surprising new owner. MAS Tierra, a Florida-based firm that was an unknown name to ski operators, purchased the Wyoming ski resort. However, the new owner, Jose Mas, Jr., has roots in Colorado, which grew his love for the outdoors. Over the past few months, they have been working on connecting with the community.
On July Fourth, the town of Ten Sleep will be hosting a parade. Meadowlark Ski Lodge will be among the participants. With their float, they will have people hand out golden tickets to guests. This ticket will give people a chance to win a 2026-27 season pass. No word on what the process for winning these passes entails, minus the golden ticket. Hopefully, it’s not like the laborious ordeal of going through a chocolate factory.
Future Of Meadowlark
Mas detailed his ambitions for the small Wyoming ski resort to news outlets back in May.
In terms of the skiing experience, it doesn’t appear like much will be changing for this upcoming winter. Work this offseason will focus on trail maintenance and other upkeep projects. Lift ticket prices will be staying the same, while season pass pricing will be announced once their new Point of Sale system is in place. A return to the Indy Pass also appears to be part of the plans.
For summer activities, the plan is to expand offerings to include mountain biking and horseback riding, among other excursions. Another idea is to create a cafe for hikers and campers to grab food and drinks, with wi-fi. Another idea is to create a library of books that delve into the area’s history.
The one potential roadblock is that they will only have a year-long lease with the Forest Service to start out. However, barring any violations of the agreement, the Forest Service intends to renew the leases for a 40-year term for the ski resort and a 20-year term for the nearby lodging property.
Season passes are on sale now, costing only $315 for ages 18 and up (not including taxes and a credit card fee). That’s another great way to keep the locals happy.
