Brian Head, Utah — La Niña, who? Despite below-average snowfall this winter, Brian Head Resort has had a historic ski season.
Last week, Brian Head gave a recap for its 60th season. The stats are impressive: The season started on November 8th and is set to conclude on May 4th. This has been their longest season ever, despite only receiving 179 inches of snow this season, which is well below average. This season will last 178 days, which is 4 more days than its previous record, which was set during the 2023-24 season.
This season also marked the most visitation ever for Brian Head. The markets of St. George and Las Vegas continue to grow, and having Lee Canyon (the closest ski resort to Las Vegas), which is also on the Power Pass, likely contributes to this growth as well.
“We’re excited to share that the 2024–25 season has brought the most skiable days and highest visitation in Brian Head Resort’s 60-year history,” said Amber Palmer, the marketing manager at Brian Head Resort. “Thanks to our dedicated team, an early opening in November, and strategic investments in snowmaking, we’ve delivered our longest season yet — all while keeping skiing affordable for everyone.”
Various upgrades are on tap for this upcoming offseason, with $1 million in improvements planned. This includes more snowmaking, the introduction of an RFID ticket system, and additional novice glading.
Now, onto the million-dollar question…

The big question for Brian Head is when work will begin on their terrain expansion. For those not in the know, Brian Head Resort is planning an 850 skiable-acre expansion in the next few decades that will also serve a variety of new real estate developments. The new lifts aren’t scheduled to open next winter, but according to Life of Brian Head, Utah, initial construction will begin on these lifts this summer.
So we’ll have to wait at least one more ski season before we see this place begin to grow rapidly.
Update 4/30: Brian Head has announced a season extension. Were they’ll close for daily operations on May 4th, reopen on May 9th, and stay open until the 11th. That means they’ll be open for a total of 181 days this ski season.
