Chile — North Americans have been paying more attention to the South American ski industry, as one company has begun to invest in Chile. In 2023, Mountain Capital Partners acquired Valle Nevado. They followed that up by acquiring its next-door interconnected neighbor, La Parva, in 2024.
Earlier this week, Mountain Capital Partners announced more than $4 million in capital improvements for the 2025 ski season. These improvements include lift upgrades, more snowmaking, new dining options, and facility renovations.
Here’s a breakdown of what’s new at La Parva and Valle Nevado for the 2025 ski season…
La Parva: In terms of La Parva’s infrastructure, the Alpha, Águilas, and Fabres chairlifts have been refurbished, which will increase their reliability in these key terrain pods.
New snowmaking equipment has been installed that will allow for reliable top-to-bottom skiing off the Alpha chairlift.
For dining, La Parva will open Bistro at Alpha Base, which will offer French cuisine. Mornings will feature pastries like baguettes, croissants, and pain au chocolat. They’ll have menu items like French Onion Soup, artisanal pizzas, and sandwiches at lunchtime. There will also be plentiful drinks for those who are aiming to have an aprés experience.
La Parva is also adding two new retail experiences. A new La Parva Store has been added to the Parva Chica area, which will sell branded apparel and merchandise. Over at the Alpha base area, the rental shop has been expanded, allowing for a smoother gear pickup process for guests.

Valle Nevado: The core lifts at Valle Nevado, which are the Andes Express, Mirador, and Gondola, have undergone significant refurbishments over the offseason, which will improve their reliability.
Valle Nevado’s Hotel School terrain zone has been expanded, which will help give more space for beginners and ski school students to learn.
For dining, they’re adding a food truck at Cima Ancla because of the popularity of the food truck at Cima Mirador. Located almost 12,000 feet above sea level, they’re calling it “the highest-altitude culinary experience in the Andes.” La Fourchette, which is Valle Nevado’s French restaurant, has undergone renovations, with more lighting, an improved bar, and new flooring.
Two of Valle Nevado’s hotels saw the continuation of a multi-year renovation. Hotel Puerta del Sol saw improvements to the rooms and hallways, which includes new flooring, wall finishes, and improved lighting. Last year saw new bedding and televisions in the rooms. Meanwhile, Hotel Valle Nevado saw improvements to the lobby, bars, and fitness center.
Valle Nevado is also adding a new Rental Domo, which will be most suitable for condo guests and day trippers. This new rental shop will help reduce queues at the Main Rental Shop. Rossignol and Whitespace are being introduced at the ski resort’s retail shops this upcoming season.
Other additions include the introduction of a new Guest Experience Team this season, additional wayfinding signage, a new savings for Visa cardholders.
If you’re looking to make a trip to the Southern Hemisphere this year, it’s become easier than ever for Americans to visit. The Ikon Pass includes 7 days and 10% off lodging at Valle Nevado, the Mountain Collective offers two days and 15% off the rack rate for hotel stays at Valle Nevado, and the Power Pass includes 10 days between Valle Nevado and La Parva, plus 15% off hotel packages at Valle Nevado. For those who don’t have those passes, new add-on day ticket options will allow guests to access both ski resorts.
