Cimarron, CO — When it comes to private ski resorts, the Cimarron Mountain Club may be the best in the United States. Only available to 13 families, the varied terrain accessed by snowcats offers pristine snow quality. The opportunity to get in there is currently available to someone with a lot of money.
Priced at $25.7 million, Hideaway Creek Cabin is the only complete residence inside the private ski resort. The 4,181-square-foot property features 4 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. The recently completed home also includes access to the new base area lodge. The lodge has quality dining options, a bar, and lots of hangout space.
Late last year, the home was listed for sale. However, it has yet to be sold. Because of this, it’s scheduled for auction. Bids are currently being accepted through July 13th. The auction is scheduled to occur from July 14-28.
About Cimarron Mountain Club
Opened in December 2018, the 1,900-acre property is situated in Southwestern Colorado. It’s known for its excellent ski terrain. The over 1,700 skiable acres include groomed runs, chutes, and bowls. The alpine terrain is served by three snowcats. The runs are made safe by a CMC avalanche mitigation program led by the second-in-command at Telluride. Other winter activities include a vast trail network for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. There’s also access to adjacent BLM and National Forest land.
During the summer, there are ample opportunities for fishing, hiking, and biking. Fishermen will enjoy the 3 self-sustaining ponds and the nearby streams. There’s also a 20-acre lake with a dock, boats, and gold medal trout fishing. There are various maintained mountain biking and hiking trails to explore, allowing you to scope out your lines for next winter. Rock climbers also will find enjoyment here thanks to an 800-foot basalt spire. Rafting is also possible in the nearby streams.
The member can have up to five people who must be direct family members. Each family gets 115 total days annually. After those 115 days are used, it costs $300 per additional day. Guests are allowed, but must be accompanied by a member. The membership cost is reportedly a couple of million dollars, but isn’t being applied to this property due to the high buy-in. There’s also an annual $120,000 HOA fee.
