The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is offering a $10,000 reward for any information that leads to an arrest, criminal conviction, or civil penalty assessment in relation to the illegal killing of a federally listed endangered gray wolf in Morrow County in Eastern Oregon.

The killing took place west of Highway 395 where gray wolves are considered endangered under the Endangered Species Act. On November 8, 2024, the radio-collared male gray wolf, OR 159, was found dead on private land. The body was found about twenty miles south of the town of Heppner.

Anyone with information about the case should call the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service at (503) 682-6131, or Oregon State Police Dispatch at (800) 452-7888, *OSP (*677) or email TIP@osp.oregon.gov. An investigation is currently ongoing with assistance from the Oregon State Police. Those who call in can remain anonymous.
