Planning a ski trip on a budget.

Skiing and snowboarding is expensive, that’s no secret. Gear, tickets, lodging, travel, food, and many other factors build up the bill, making it a difficult sport to get into. Fortunately there are a few ways you can save money on the mountain, like bringing your own lunch or seeking out less expensive resorts. YouTuber PeakRanking compiled a list of the best ways to save money while planning a skiing or snowboarding trip.

The savviest budgeting tricks can save you hundreds of dollars on your ski trip, even at the highest-end destinations.

I’m a big pack-your-own-lunch kind of guy when it comes to skiing. The #1 fan of pocket PB&Js. But on a brutally cold day, nothing really hits quite like a hot lunch. One of my favorite money saving tips (and it’s certainly no secret, many people do this) is to bring one of those instant ramen noodle cups to the mountain and getting hot water in the lodge. Some places allow that, some places don’t, so make sure you properly plan ahead if you decide to go that route.
