Big Sky, Montana โ Big Sky’s new jaw-dropping year-round attraction is nearly complete.
Yesterday, Big Sky Resort announced that the glass and steel installations on the Kircliff have been completed. The impressive video announcement, produced by SkyLab Media House, showcases the work done during this offseason.
The new observation deck is situated 11,166 feet above sea level. The two-story deck will protect guests from the elements while also providing impressive views. The structure allows you to walk six-and-a-half feet past the edge of Lone Mountain (locals get mad when I call it Lone Peak) to see your mountainous surroundings. The three-inch-thick glass weighs an average of 2,000 pounds, meaning it will be able to withstand the nasty elements that can occur up there.
Why This Attraction Is Important For Big Sky Resort
Reaching the top of Lone Mountain will be much easier than before. When the Explorer Gondola opens, which is expected in December, guests will just need to take a short walk to the Lone Peak Tram. After riding up, guests will be right next to the new scenic attraction. While scenic passengers were welcome, reaching the peak of Lone Mountain was mainly an experience for avid skiers and snowboarders. Now, it’ll be accessible for everyone. This means that more visitors who are visiting the Bozeman and West Yellowstone area (Big Sky is basically in the middle of these two) will be able to take in the nearby scenery.
The new Kircliff attraction is scheduled to open on December 20th.
