Londonderry, Vermont — After years of work to get the Black Line Quad operational, the rewards are finally paying off for Magic Mountain.
In its latest Alpine Update, Magic Mountain Ski Area has detailed its numbers from the 2024-25 season, and they’re pretty impressive. Skier visits were up 26% compared to the 2023-24 season. Paid ticket visits were up 36% compared to the winter of 2023-24, a stat that includes Indy Pass redemptions. Season passholders ended up visiting more often as well, with an increase of 11%. In an earlier Alpine Update, Magic Mountain defined this season as a record sales year. This is despite a season that only saw 128″ of snowfall, only two inches above their average snowfall for the past nine years.
Part of this increase was thanks to the opening of the Black Line Quad, which made its debut in February 2024. Magic only sells limited tickets to keep the lift lines and slopes uncrowded, so the new chairlift helped increase capacity. Snowmaking upgrades during the 2024 offseason helped Magic make more snow, which they had ample opportunities to do this past ski season.
Next up for Magic is the Mountain Town Get Down on May 31st, which will feature cross country skiers racing each other on a snow patch that’s currently being covered. Proceeds form the event will go towards West River Sports and local Mountain Towns Recreation (MTR) youth programs.
In terms of the next season, season pass prices are the same as they were in 2024 and 2023. This has led to another big boost for Magic, with an increase 34% compared to this time last year. These metrics are the latest indication that Magic is on the right path.
