Deming, Washington — Mt. Baker is a legendary ski area, which means it should have a legendary logo. Surprisingly, while it has had some cool logos, it hasn’t been known for a single logo like other iconic mountains, such as Snowbird. Their new logo is trying to reach that level.

Last Friday, Mt. Baker Ski Area announced its new logo. Graphic designer Terra Johnston’s new design makes the raven the central focus. The raven was part of a previous logo used from 2001 to 2026. As an unofficial mascot of Mt. Baker, ravens are frequently seen around the ski area. There are various raven sculptures around the area, including at the entrance sign and at their mid-mountain lodge. According to 1000 Logos, Mt. Baker will give complimentary hats with the new logo to season passholders.
As part of the announcement, the Mt. Baker team spoke with Duncan Howat, who was the General Manager of the ski area from 1968 – 2019. He led the design of several logos for Mt. Baker’s history, including this most recent one.
Mt. Baker’s opening date hasn’t been announced yet, which makes sense, since it’s August.
