Jackson, New Hampshire — It’s been a quality season at Black Mountain. Following the purchase of the ski resort by Entabeni Systems (which also owns and operates the Indy Pass) in October 2024, the new leadership team has made many improvements, including revitalizing the Alpine Cabin, upgrades to the snowmaking infrastructure, moving the beginner area closing to the base lodge, and technology enhancements.

Last Friday, Erik Mogensen, who’s the General Manager of Black Mountain and the founder of Entabeni Systems, provided an update on next season. In the video below, Erik describes how this season has been, and what the future holds for the New Hampshire ski resort.

The original goal was to launch the co-op (community ownership) this spring, but creating one takes time due to creating it with the SEC (U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission). The plan is to launch the co-op in December 2025. Black Mountain season passholders will get first dibs on these ownership shares. While this regulatory process occurs, Entabeni will continue to own and operate the mountain.

Black Mountain has also announced that season passes are now on sale, and they’re very affordable. Adult passes will be $449, a 31% decrease from what it was for the 2023-24 season ($649). The plan is to have a cap on pass sales in order to maintain an uncrowded experience.

In addition, Black is planning to be one of the last ski resorts to close in New Hampshire. The New Hampshire ski area plans to be open weekends in April (Friday-Sunday) from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. An official closing date has yet to be announced, with ambitions to make it to May. Black’s elevation and location make it a contender to be the last to close in New Hampshire.

This offseason, Black will be working on various projects, including more snowmaking upgrades, lift refurbishments, facility renovations, and growing their staff. Many exciting changes have occurred in a short time there, so seeing what comes next for the historic Black Mountain will be fascinating.
