Planning a ski trip in another country can be quite a hassle. Figuring out where to stay, how to get there, where to eat, and everything else can turn into a stressful nightmare, all for what’s supposed to be a vacation. So if you’re hoping to book a Japan ski trip without stressing out over the details, consider Japan Ski Tour’s 10-Day Hokkaido Indy Trip.

Japan Ski Tours

For this 10-day, 9-night trip, Japan Ski Tours (JST) handles all of the logistics, allowing you to explore Hokkaido and ski at four Indy member resorts in the area. A JST Host will be there throughout the entire trip, making sure transitions between locations are smooth and easy.

Once you’ve made it to the accommodations, you get to decide what to do with each day, whether it’s skiing or snowboarding, checking out the towns, or just resting up. Plus, Indy Pass holders can ski up to 7 of 9 days for free at partner resorts.

Those without Indy Passes are still welcome to join, they’ll just have to purchase their lift tickets as they explore Hokkaido. Lift tickets aren’t expensive either, with all nine days of skiing costing just under $300USD for this season.

The four Indy Pass member resorts on the trip include Pippu, Kamui Ski Links, Mount Racey, and Kiroro Resort. The trip also spends time around the Furano Ski Resort, which isn’t an Indy Pass member but would be hard to miss.

Though not included, guests are welcome to take advantage of the many different backcountry guides that exist throughout the area. While hitting the areas around Kamui Ski Links, Asahidake, Pippu and Furano, Japan Ski Tours recommends taking a look at Ninja Powder, and Rising Suns Guides is recommended while around Kiroro Ski Resort. Each person is welcome to decide how they spend their days on this trip.

Throughout the trip, guests stay in Asahikawa, Furano, and Otaru, taking advantage of centrally located accommodations in authentically Japanese towns. Spacious hotel rooms with large daily breakfast buffets will greet guests at three hotels, while two of the three have their own hot springs.

Breakfast at each hotel is provided, and 4 dinners will be included along the way. Guests will enjoy a welcome dinner on the first day, another welcome dinner upon arrival in Furano, and dinner for both nights spent in Otaru. These meals include a night of Yakiniku, or grilled Japanese BBQ, and top-of-the-line sushi in Otaru.

All you need to do is get to and from the pick-up/drop-off points at CTS airport and provide any snacks, drinks, or lunches you might want for yourself. The Indy pass is not included, and guests should budget around $100 for two days of skiing at Furano. Otherwise, Japan Ski Tours will take care of the rest.
