Great news for all you Stowe skiers and snowboarders, the iconic Vermont resort got a nice little influx of snow and clocked in a fresh 10 inches overnight. It will be cold out there with upper mountain chill chills at -12F but if you bundle up the conditions look great.
Side note: Really appreciate the time-lapse of the snow stake with a clock and thermometer visible in the background. Really honest way to convey how things are lining up for the day. Well done Stowe.
SNOW ALERT!❄️We received 11" of snow, and it keeps coming. Enjoy over 58 acres of top-to-bottom skiing and riding, with additional terrain to be opened throughout the day. Our own snowmaking efforts continue as we look to expand quickly. https://t.co/PM5dt8w541 #stowemt pic.twitter.com/QW3K6mBYuv

It’s a POWDER DAY AT STOWE!
10 inches of delicious dendrites have landed overnight (and counting), as upslope and lake enhanced snow showers and some Mansfield Magic deliver the snowy stoke to the storied slopes of Stowe. 11 inches in the last 24 hours, 55 inch current season snowfall.
Today’s National Weather Service forecast for Mt. Mansfield calls for gradually decreasing snowfall and gusty west/northwest winds.
Temps range from 5 degrees at the top of the FourRunner Quad, to 14 degrees here at the base. Those temps are forecast to rise to 7 degrees up top, and 17 degrees at the base by noon. Windchill values as low as 12 degrees below zero on the upper mountain for first chair.
Blustery west/northwest winds 35 to 55 miles per hour at the summit to start the day. Those winds are forecast to decrease slightly as the day progresses. Winds of that nature may affect our lift operations. Stay tuned to stowe.com/alerts or to the My Epic App for the most up to date operational information.
Wind permitting 4 uphill lifts will be spinning, with first chair scheduled to load on the FourRunner and Sunrise at 8 AM. Please note that skiing and riding on Mt. Mansfield is for intermediate and advanced ability levels only, excellent learning terrain is available at Spruce Peak on the Adventure Triple or Meadows Carpet.
Please Note – Shuttles will be providing transportation between the Mansfield and Spruce Peak, as our amazing lift mechanics wrap up a complex repair on the Over Easy Transfer Gondola.
We’ll be getting down on 15 trails, for over 58 acres of top to bottom skiing and riding on Vermont’s highest peak. Base depths range from 12 – 24 inches with powdery machine groomed and variable early season surface conditions. We are stoked for additional terrain to be opened throughout the day as the Mt. Mansfield Ski Patrol assess the snowy situation on the slopes.
Prior to overnight snowfall, 20 inches of natural snow depth observed at the fabled Mt. Mansfield Summit Stake.
We smoothed out 11 trails, for over 4 miles of famous Stowe corduroy, courtesy of the one and only Legion of Groom.
Stowe Parks is delivering early season freestyle stoke with two features in the Midway Hike Park in the Gondola base area.
Snowmaking continues to lay it down thick resort wide, focusing on terrain expansion on Mt. Mansfield and the legendary Main Street Race Course on Spruce Peak. With a strong assist from Mother Nature snow surfaces are looking really nice.
Lastly, early in the season when there is unlimited enthusiasm but limited terrain, please remember to share the slopes and ski/ride with care.
Have a great day on the slopes!
