If you want to explore some under-the-radar mountains next winter, you should ditch the chaos and get the Indy Pass. Now on sale to the public, the Indy Pass is full of unique gems. In honor of their public sale, we’ve compiled a list of five ski areas you should visit with your Indy Pass. We’ve picked one ski resort from various regions across the United States for this list. Without further ado, here are our five picks.

1. Eaglecrest Ski Area, Alaska: The remote city of Juneau is home to Eaglecrest, an uncrowded ski area known for its powder, affordability, and views. With their long-planned gondola construction project set to begin this summer, Eaglecrest will get even better in the coming years.

2. 49 Degrees North, Washington: Nestled in the quiet Northeast corner of Washington, 49 Degrees North is highly regarded for its glade skiing, ample snowfall, and 2300 acres of skiable terrain. For those who want to make a ski trip to the mountains around Spokane, 49 Degrees should be a part of those plans.

3. Eagle Point, Utah: Located a little over three hours outside Salt Lake City, Eagle Point doesn’t see the crowds that have become common for many Utah ski resorts. This means there’s ample powder and uncrowded slopes. Plus, there are Powder Fridays, where the leftover powder from when the mountain is closed is there for the taking.

4. Granite Peak, Wisconsin: The Midwest is known for its smaller ski areas, but Granite Peak is among the few exceptions. With 68 trails and seven lifts, the Wisconsin ski area has a great variety of terrain. More terrain could be added in the future, so Midwest skiers and riders should go check this place out.

5. Magic Mountain, Vermont: The Vermont ski area has become known for going against the corporate norm that has become common in the state’s ski industry. Varied terrain and a rustic setup bring back memories of the vintage era of skiing. With the Black chairlift finally open, the time to visit Magic is now.
