A resort in the tiny European nation of Andorra is crying foul over damage to its chairlift cables, French press outlet Ouest-France is reporting.
Josep Marticella, director of the Vallnord-Pal Arinsal was quick to reassure prospective visitors the news would not affect the ski resort’s planned Dec. 1 open date, but didn’t mince words about the incident.
“We were victims of sabotage, we were attacked,” he told a press conference.
According to the article, police investigating the incident confirmed the damage was intentional.
“On site, police confirmed various attempts to damage lifts. According to the first elements of the investigation, the author (s) allegedly climbed the pylons and used a radial saw to cut the cables.”

Andorra is a small principality on the Iberian Peninsula nestled in the Pyrenees Mountains between France and Spain. Vallnord is set to host the Font Blana International Ski Mountaineering Event this January, which will presumably be unaffected because, you know, skimo.
