Mont Saint-Sauveur, Que., is the first ski resort in Canada to open for the 2015 -2016 ski season. Cold temperatures over the weekend allowed for 16 hours of snowmaking giving the resort enough snow to kick off the Canadian ski season. This marks the resort’s second-earliest opening—the earliest being Oct. 18, 2009.
Over the past few days both Killington, VT and Sunday River, ME have also opened for skiing and riding.
