Zion National Park, Utah – Zion National Park is a natural wonder millions of years in the making. Located in southern Utah, Zion has long been a place of significance. The Southern Paiute people called this land home for centuries, drawing life from the Virgin River and preserving a deep connection to its sacred spaces. Later, pioneer settlers and explorers marveled at the canyon’s beauty, ultimately calling for its protection. Today, Zion attracts millions of visitors each year, all seeking to experience its grandeur.
For generations, artists have been drawn to Zion’s ever-changing light and monumental rock formations. Painter Kate Starling, who lives just outside the park, captures these fleeting moments in her work. “Every painting starts with light,” she says, reflecting on the inspiration she finds in the landscape. “It defines everything.”
