Beaver, Utah — The past few days have seen a lot of interest in the status of Eagle Point Resort. Maps of the Cottonwood Fire showed that the wildfire’s path had consumed most, if not all, of the Utah ski resort. Videos and photos from home and condo owners sparked further concerns due to the fire reaching the resort. However, as demonstrated by recent photos from the ski resort, many buildings remain standing.
Eagle Point Resort shared two promising updates yesterday. The first showed photos of several critical buildings that are still standing despite the wildfire. Evoking a famous Elton John song, they said “we’re still standing.”
The owner of Eagle Point, Shane Gadbaw, shared additional photos and videos of the wildfire. It shows some of the main structures still standing. He reiterated his commitment to the ski resort and rebuilding. As we mentioned in our last post about Eagle Point, more additions were planned for the future, including more real estate developments, a clubhouse for local property owners, a terrain expansion, a lift connecting the upper and lower mountains, and a Nordic Spa.
Eagle Point isn’t out of the woods yet. The Cottonwood Fire continues to burn with 0% containment, and a good portion of the state is under its first-ever “particularly dangerous situation red flag warning.” But the photos and videos that emerged yesterday give hope that we’ll see Eagle Point operate during the 2026-27 ski season.
A Venmo account has been launched for the victims of the fire, which you can donate to here.
