Camelback Resort in the Poconos officially closed its 2025/26 ski season Tuesday, May 6th, following a Cinco de Mayo Beach Party that turned out to be the Pennsylvania mountain’s final day of operation. A combination of heavy rain and rising temperatures ultimately ended the run, but not before the resort etched its name into Pennsylvania ski history.

The mountain logged a remarkable 138 ski days this season, and on Tuesday, May 5th, it was the only ski resort running on the entire East Coast (other East Coast ski resorts are operating on weekends only). General Manager Jason confirmed the closure in a letter to guests, calling the season a point of pride for the resort and its team.

Snowmaking began November 10, 2025, and crews produced snow across six different months, a stretch that carried through November, December, January, February, March, and April. The mountain was nearly 100 percent open by early January.

For now, the mountain will turn toward summer operations. Camelbeach Waterpark opens in four weeks, while Camelback Lodge, Aquatopia, and the adventure park remain open year-round.

With Camelback’s closure, just three ski resorts remain open in the East. Jay Peak, Killington, and Black Mountain all plan to continue operating on weekends only as late as they can. Killington and Jay Peak are both operating this Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, while Black Mountain is limited to Saturdays and Sundays only. Closing dates are yet to be determined.
