Park City, Utah โ Thanks to snowmaking efforts, a new signature run for Deer Valley and Utah’s ski industry is now open.
Last weekend, Deer Valley Resort officially opened Redemption. This double blue (advanced intermediate) trail offers dramatic views of the Jordanelle Reservoir, Deer Valley, and other peaks. Guests reach this roughly three mile trail either by riding to the top of the East Village Gondola, Revelator Express, or Pinyon Express.
The best perspective on the opening came from hardcore skier Lucas Catania, who secured first tracks on the trail before its grand opening at 9:15 a.m. on Sunday.
Deer Valley followed this up yesterday by offering some notable discounts. Half-day tickets are priced based on the amount runs open (currently $131), and discounted chili is being offered for passholders depending on the open trail count (ranging from $1.32 to $2.02).
About The Deer Valley Expansion
This ski season, Deer Valley is opening the second phase of Expanded Excellence. During the 2024-25 season, Deer Valley opened the East Village, a new base area that connects to many new trails and lifts. The 2024-25 season saw the addition of 19 trails, one run extension, and 3 lifts. This included Deer Valleyโs first-ever bubble chairlift. This ski season will (likely) see the debut of nearly 80 trails and 7 new lifts. Over the past two ski seasons, Deer Valley has added around 100 trails and 10 lifts to its terrain network.
In the base village, there are 1,200 parking spots, a temporary skier services building, and a Grand Hyatt hotel. More buildings will be constructed in the years ahead, including a new base lodge, a Four Seasons hotel, and a Waldorf Astoria.
The 2026-27 season will introduce Hail Peak, which will be served by a new high-speed chairlift. Another future expansion planned is on South Peak, which will cater to advanced and expert skiers.
