Riding the chairlift is a great time to refuel with a quick snack or drink, but there’s an endless number of options to choose from. We asked our Facebook followers what their favorite lift snack is and got hundreds of responses. The results are quite a mix, some much more serious than others. From pocket bacon to Fireball nips, here are a handful of the top picks to make your next day on the slope a little more enjoyable.

Pocket Bacon

The number one repeated response was easily pocket bacon, with Avery D., Chris D., and Sannan S. among the many praising its portable glory. Matt B. suggested candied bacon for extra flair. While a great option, it won’t necessarily stay crispy all day long, with a good chance of some serious meat crumbles filling your pocket.

PB&J and Uncrustables

Peanut butter and jelly, especially Uncrustables, scored quite a few votes. These pre-made sandwiches are compact, generally mess-free, and packed with carbs and protein. Many others prefer a homemade PB&J for nostalgia or affordability, while Griff G. wraps his in a tortilla.

Whiskey for Warmth

Whiskey, led by Fireball, warmed several skiers’ hearts, many praising its fiery kick. Others opt for straight whiskey, while Arthur L. swears by Jack Daniels Black. A quick nip could fight the chill on a cold lift ride, boosting your courage for steep runs. Be careful though, you shouldn’t be getting drunk on the slopes. It’s stupid and dangerous to both yourself and others.

Beer on the Lift

Lift beers, with a high number of votes for PBRs, got quite a handful of mentions. Tim A. pairs Heineken with salami and cheese, while Jason D. prefers the Montucky Cold Snacks. Of course, like whiskey, beer on the lift can have some disastrous consequences if you’re not careful. One can be great, but going to far can get very dangerous. Don’t drop your cans, either. Littering isn’t cool.

Wildcards

There were plenty of less common responses still worth bringing up. Shane C. likes to take along a pocket burrito, while Zion W. likes to bring along some Ziplock spaghetti. James F.’s full chicken parm meal is pretty bold, but it’s a lot less shocking than Fred F’s raw garlic cloves. Any of those options are likely to shock your lift partner.
