15-year-old Arisa Trew wins gold.

Australian 15-year-old skateboarder Arisa Trew secured her eighth X Games gold medal in the Vert Best Trick contest in Salt Lake City on Saturday, becoming the winning most woman in X Games summer disciplines.

Trew had already earned silver in the Very final earlier in the day. During the Vert Best Trick contest, she landed a kickflip body varial 540, becoming the only woman to land the trick in competition. She had pulled it off in training once before, but completing the trick under the pressure of a 20-minute jam session is impressive on its own.

“I think it’s really cool knowing I can inspire girls or just anyone in general to keep skateboarding or what they love doing in any sport is to accomplish something. Since I started, I’ve been skating with these girls–and we have the best time together!” – Arisa Trew

In 2023, Trew became the first woman to land a 720 on a skateboard in a competition run at Vert Alert, earning her a walk-off-Skateboard Vert gold at XG California. She won gold the following day in Skateboard Park and became the youngest to win 2 gold medals at one X Games at just 13 years and 2 months. That record was previously held by Shaun White who set it during XG Aspen 2003 at 16 years and 4 months.
