Mars Hill, North Carolina — A rejuvenated North Carolina ski resort is planning to add a mountain biking trail network in the years ahead.

This week, Hatley Pointe officially announced that they are working on a mountain biking trail network. The project is a collaboration with Elevated Trail Designs, which has done many mountain biking projects across the country. Some of their most notable projects include Beech Mountain, Taos Ski Valley, and the Wellington Bike Park in Breckenridge. Construction will be ongoing this summer and fall, with the goal of a grand opening in spring 2026.

Known as Wolf Ridge for many years, it was bought by the Hatley family in 2023. Since they acquired the ski resort, they’ve made many quality improvements, including a major renovation of the base lodge, refurbishing the lifts, bringing back long-lost trails, major snowmaking upgrades, and adding a rope tow to the terrain park. It’ll be interesting to see what else Hatley Pointe has planned in the years ahead.
