Wild Rose, Wisconsin — A small Wisconsin ski area is planning a bid addition for next season.

Last week, Nordic Mountain announced that they are building a new lodge this offseason. According to WLUK, the three-story ADA-accessible building will have a footprint of thirty by seventy feet. This new building will become their new hub for their ski and snowboard school, ticket office, retail shop, and ski patrol. For employees, this facility will provide much-needed locker space for them. In terms of dining, there will be will be an unspecified food service outlet there. A large space for bathrooms is also planned.
This will be situated in the same spot that used to be home to their Yurt. The current lodge, which includes the famous Nordy’s Pub, will remain intact. In fact, the two lodges will be connected to each other, and there will be a large patio outside both lodges that will serve as a new hangout space. They hope to have it ready by Thanksgiving weekend for the 2025-26 season, which is typically when they open.

Located in central Wisconsin, Nordic Mountain features 12 trails, 4 terrain parks, 7 lifts, and a vertical drop of 265 feet. Nordic Mountain’s 2024-25 season began on December 6th, and ended on March 16th. The Wisconsin ski area didn’t see much snowfall, with only 33 inches of natural snow, but their 40 snowmaking guns allowed for quality conditions.
