Quebec — Breaking the shot ski record is all the rage these days. For years, the ski towns of Breckenridge and Park City have been dueling each other for the world’s longest shot ski.

That was until this past weekend when Mont-Orford gathered many people to attempt the world’s largest shot ski. These efforts ended up paying off, with Mont-Orford breaking the world record with 1460 people and 506 skis. This broke the previous record set by Breckenridge last December, which was 1401 individuals with 503 connected skis. Before that, Park City set the record in September 2024 with 1385 people and more than 550 interconnected skis. Since Mont-Orford announced their intentions before this past weekend, it appears as though this isn’t an April Fool’s Joke.

Down below the Canadian border, another Northeastern ski resort is trying to break the record. Sunday River Resort has brought in friggin’ Donny Pelletier to try and recruit people to help break the shot ski record. Whether this attempt will be successful is to be determined.
