Corbet’s Couloir at Jackson Hole is legendary for its difficulty, sending skiers hurtling down the runout after wipeouts on the goat path. But despite its fame (and as many people love to point out) it’s not the most difficult feature at Jackson Hole, and with some proper skill and technique, plenty of people can conquer it.
This short 2 step guide won’t guarantee a successful run into Corbet’s Couloir, but it could certainly help. Jay recommends breaking down the run into 1) a side slip into the goat path and then 2) a hop turn. With that in mind, the run doesn’t seem all that difficult.
Of course the difficulty of the run depends on the conditions and who you are as a skier. For example, some people might find it easier to just jump into the couloir and stick the landing. Personally I don’t think I fall into that category.

Even experienced skiers find Corbet’s challenging, so only highly experienced skiers and riders should attempt to ski the Couloir.
