Cache County, Utah — One of Utah’s newest ski resorts is now on the market. If you want in, you’re going to need Scrooge McDuck-level money.

This week, Cherry Peak Resort was officially listed on the market.

This news is notable for a few reasons. For one, it’s priced at $22.5 million, which is well above what we’ve seen other ski resorts listed for. Secondly, it’s a bit surprising that a relatively new ski resort is on sale already. It first opened during the 2015-16 season, making it one of the newest ski resorts in Utah. The third point is that there’s ample room for development of overnight accommodations.

It’s one of the two ski resorts serving the small city of Logan, the other being Beaver Mountain. The ski resort features 29 trails, 4 lifts, and a vertical drop of 1,265 feet. Further terrain expansion appears dependent on U.S. Forest Serivce or State of Utah approval. At this point, its mellow terrain network caters to families.

The 15,784 sq ft. smulti-level base lodge is also beautiful. Some of the current features include a wrap-around deck, fireplaces, a ballroom, and various rooms for the variosu departments (such as ski patrol and rentals). There’s also the possibility to build overnight lodging next to the existing building, or across the street.

Unfortunately, its get less snowfall then other Utah ski resorts. According to Cache Valley News, the ski resort elevation is below that of other Utah ski resorts. This has led to early closings and a reduced operating schduled for weekdays.

They’ve been able to keep the ski resort busy during the summer. Cherry Peak hosts concerts, and their lodge is used as an event space for weddings. There are various approved uses that could be implimented by a future owner include mountain biking, disc golf, and ziplines.

We did end up reaching out to the current owner last week regarding the news, but he didn’t return a request for comment.
