Chris Tomer snowfall forecast.
Chris Tomer snowfall forecast.

More snow is on its way for the western United States, and while skiers and snowboarders in Colorado and parts of California might not be the happiest with the forecast, meteorologist Chris Tomer has some great news for those in Oregon, Washington, British Columbia, Idaho, Wyoming, and elsewhere.

Over the five days, snow is expected in an around Big Sky, the Wasatch, the Tetons, Colorado, and Tahoe, though not a ton is expected in all of those areas. For example, low-to-medium snowfall is expected in southern Colorado between late Tuesday, January 28, and Thursday, January 30, but not much more than 7 inches at the deepest.

The real snowfall winners over the next several days seem to be Jackson Hole, with 30 inches of accumulation forecasted, Stevens Pass and Mount Baker, with 28 inches of accumulation forecasted, and Timberline and Mount Bachelor, with 36 inches of accumulation forecasted. In California, Mount Shasta could see 48 inches of snowfall accumulation between now and February 2, while further south, Heavenly is expected to see just 10 inches.
