Courchevel, France — After suffering a puncture wound at the Killington Cup on November 30th, Mikaela Shiffrin is ready to return.
Yesterday, the 99-time World Cup winner announced that she will return on January 30th. She will compete in the Audi FIS World Cup Slalom race at Courchevel, France, as she tries to secure her 100th victory. This follows a grueling puncture wound suffered at Killington last November, which was followed by an unexpected surgery. She’s been able to get back on snow at Vail over the past few weeks and has been training before she heads across the pond to Europe.
Yesterday, Shiffrin joined the TODAY show as part of her comeback announcement. In the interview, Shiffrin discussed her recovery, what she’s been dealing with since the crash, and what she’s focusing on for the rest of the season.
Congrats to Mikaela on her comeback!
