Bozeman, Montana — Ah, the 1990s. Grunge music was on the rise, The Simpsons was at its peak, and people liked wearing baggy jeans for some reason. In snowsports, it was a decade that was marked by the rise of extreme skiing. This was exemplified by athletes like Dan Egan, Glen Plake, and Scott Schmidt.
This week, Bridger Bowl shared some vintage 1990s footage from a couple of Greg Stump ski films. Camera crews captured athletes skiing through powder and rowdy terrain The footage is from three films: 1990’s “Dr. Strange Glove,” 1991’s “Groove Requiem in The Key of Ski,” and 1994’s “P-Tex, Lies & Duct Tape.” If you dig this footage, you can purchase those films here.
Bridger Bowl is celebrating its 70th anniversary tomorrow, January 17th. Those who carpool with three or more people in their vehicle or ride the Streamline bus will be able to purchase $30 lift tickets. Free birthday cake will also be available. With a foot of snowfall so far this week, it sounds like a great time to Ski The Cold Smoke. Happy Birthday to Bridger Bowl!
