Nonprofit Montana ski area Bridger Bowl is celebrating 70 years of skiing and snowboarding this year, with the area officially opening with just one employee back on January 16, 1955. Since then the area has changed quite a lot, with the addition of lifts, lodges, and much more.
To celebrate the 70th anniversary, the ski area slapped together a multi-decade video compilation, highlighting the past years of Bridger Bowl. It’s a pretty great video where you can watch both the area and skiing itself as a sport evolve through time.
Bridger Bowl is located in Bozeman, Montana. It’s home to 2,000 acres of skiable terrain with 2,700 feet of vertical rise. There are 75 trails on the mountain, in addition to a host of unmarked runs, one quad, three triple lifts, one double chair, and three surface lifts. There’s snowmaking on just 5% of the terrain, so most of the ski area is served with natural snow.
The ski area is set to open for the season on December 13. You can purchase tickets here and passes here if interested.
