Park City, Utah Lift lines at Park City Mountain Resort are nothing new, but they’ve become more noticeable because of the Park City Professional Ski Patrol Association strike. This has annoyed guests, which has caused some noise in the lift lines.

A video shared by Instagram user @alt_patrol_backup shows guests chanting “Pay your employees” while waiting in the packed King Con chairlift lift line. It’s not as catchy as “Let’s go Red Sox,” but it still has a decent rhythm. The Instagram account @alt_patrol_backup has shared some fascinating photos and videos from the strike, so it’s worth checking out their account.

There are a few ironies to a chant like this. Why are you chanting this at the employees working the King Con chairlift? They aren’t the executives. Secondly, if you care about them getting a more significant hourly wage, why aren’t you boycotting the mountain? I will say that why they did cross the picket line, at least they’re still finding a way to support the patrollers. Regardless, those who were chanting shared a reasonable demand.

It’s kinda shocking that this still is going on, which has hampered one of the most visited ski resorts in the country. It’s also shocking that haven’t heard a peep from the executive leadership at Vail Resorts. Meanwhile, the leaders at Park City Mountain Resort face all the vitriol. It doesn’t get easier for PCMR, which now will face crowds from the Sundance Film Festival and MLK weekend in the not-too-distant future.
