I would imagine the first rule of ski BASE jumping is make sure your magic backpack is squared away and in working order before leaping but somewhere down the checklist line should be to crank up your DIN so your skis don’t go flying off when you pull your parachute.

Thankfully this guys skis didn’t foul his canopy when the flew off but they very well could have. One thing is for sure, he will have a long trudge back up the mountain and a hell of a time retrieving his equipment. Lesson learned.
