Holiday Valley Resort stands out for its high-quality lifts, terrain variety, on-site lodging, and family-friendly atmosphere. Its location in the Western New York snowbelt helps, too. A replacement planned for next offseason will help build on Holiday Valley’s strengths.
Yesterday, Holiday Valley announced that this upcoming winter will be the final season for Cindy’s Quad. Next offseason, it will be replaced by a detachable high-speed quad chairlift. Installed in 1991, Cindy’s Quad is a CTEC fixed-grip quad chairlift that services beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert terrain.
The new lift line will follow the Foxfire trail, making it easier for guests to reach and reducing congestion. This means that Cindy’s Run will be free of lift towers, giving skiers more space to get their turns in. For now, that’s all we know about the new lift.
Recent Upgrades
The news follows an approximately $5 million investment that was announced earlier this year. Upgrades include modernizing their snowmaking network, adding RFID gates, and refurbishing the McCarty Café. Offseason upgrades include new routes for the Sky High Adventure Park and a new turf management machine for the golf course. The prior offseason included completing the Inn at Holiday Valley renovation, snowmaking upgrades, parking lot maintenance, and acquiring two PistenBully 600 snow groomers.
The 2020s have seen major lift replacements at Holiday Valley. This included the Yodeler Quad, upgraded to a high-speed quad in 2021, and the Mardi Gras Express, upgraded to a detachable six-pack in 2023.
The result is one of the best lift fleets in the Northeast, with another addition now on the docket.
