Skiers can be fiercely loyal when it comes to equipment, especially when a favorite pair of skis has survived years of hard use. We recently asked our Unofficial Networks Facebook followers a simple question about their gear loyalty. What ski brand has never let you down?

The responses produced a wide range of answers, but several names appeared repeatedly. Volkl, K2, Rossignol, Atomic, Head, Dynastar, Salomon, Fischer and Nordica were among the brands receiving the most praise.

Volkl Earns Strong Loyalty

Volkl appeared again and again throughout the discussion, with several skiers pointing to decades of experience with the German brand.

One skier said Volkl has been their choice for the last 30 years after trying numerous other brands while working in ski shops. Another reported that a pair of Katana V-Werks skis was still going strong after 10 seasons of hard riding.

Other commenters simply offered Volkl as their preferred brand, while one specifically praised Volkl skis made in Germany. The number of responses show how the brand has developed serious long term loyalty among some experienced skiers.

K2 And Rossignol Also Stand Out

K2 generated plenty of support, including one skier who said a pair had survived more than 25 years of use. Other followers pointed to specific K2 models including the Mindbender and Supercharger lines.

Rossignol was another major favorite. One commenter said they had used Rossignol skis for racing and free skiing since the late 1960s. Others praised the company’s broad product lineup or simply named Rossignol as their favorite after skiing several brands.

Smaller Brands Get Plenty Of Love

The discussion was not dominated entirely by the biggest names in skiing. Moment, ON3P, DPS, Stöckli, Icelantic, J Skis, Dynastar, Faction, Fischer, Elan and Black Crows all received enthusiastic endorsements.

Some of the most compelling responses focused specifically on durability. One Moment skier called the skis absolutely indestructible. An ON3P owner said the bindings always broke before the skis. A Stöckli skier said their Stormriders had been excellent since 2008. Another skier said their son’s Elan slalom skis were still going strong after 18 seasons.

What Skiers Really Want

Across the responses, durability and reliability were common themes. Some skiers praised brands because their equipment simply lasted. Others highlighted strong warranty support when something did go wrong.

There was also a clear reminder that no single ski brand works for everyone. The responses covered decades of skiing, different disciplines and everything from major manufacturers to small independent builders.
