Pennsylvania — Seven Springs has a new toy that’s almost ready to play with.

This offseason, Seven Springs replaced the Blitzen chairlift, a fixed-grip triple installed in 1975. It has been replaced by a new Doppelmayr fixed-grip quad. This will increase capacity by 33% with an uphill carrying capacity of 2,400 people per hour. Like its predecessor, it will serve beginner, intermediate, advanced, and expert trails and glades. It will also be part of the night skiing lineup.

The latest update from Seven Springs came yesterday, with the ski resort showing the lift is nearly complete. A few additional steps remain, but it’s looking like Blitzen will be ready for the 2026-27 season. On Donner, on Blitzen!

Another upgrade is with snowmaking. The ski resort has replaced around 3,000 feet of dated snowmaking pipe. Other improvements include a PistenBully 400 Park Pro snowcat and a replacement of the haul rope and grips on the Cortina Lift.

Seven Springs has not yet announced an opening date.
