The night of Christmas brought some decent snowfall to some areas in North America, especially in the Pacific Northwest, but the next week could be huge for major portions of the western mountains. Meteorologist Chris Tomer is forecasting some serious snowfall both along the Pacific coast and in the Rockies.
In the Wasatch, heavy snowfall is expected between today, 12/26, and 12/29. In the Tetons, heavy snow is expected between 12/26 and 12/30, and in Colorado, snowfall between 12/26 and 12/28 is expected, with more between 12/29 and 12/30.
Snow totals between today and the beginning of the new year look to be best in the Pacific Northwest, with several feet possible throughout the period. In Idaho and Utah a couple of feet could be rolling through, while Wyoming, specifically Jackson Hole, could see up to 40 inches. In Colorado, the totals fluctuate between a foot and two feet.
