Sugarloaf Mountain in Maine has apparently seen a foot of snowfall land on the slopes from the most recent storm. Their daily snow report is claiming that what was predicted to be 3-6 inches of snowfall has turned into something closer to 11-12 inches at the base.
The Maine ski resort currently has 34 of 170 trails open (as of December 5), with just two lifts, Superquad and Timberline, spinning. The daily report does state hopes of opening several more lifts, including Skyline, this weekend. They’ve apparently seen 27 inches of snowfall over the past seven days.
Sunday River, Maine’s other open ski resort, didn’t get quite as lucky from the recent storm. The storm brought just about 6 inches of snowfall to the resort over the past 24 hours, though it is still snowing both there and at Sugarloaf, so those numbers could grow.
There are no snow totals available from Saddleback, but the resort is set to open this Friday, December 6, and the mountain webcams seem to show plenty of snow falling to the ground.
