Plymouth, New Hampshire — After a project-filled offseason, Tenney Mountain Resort may have its best season yet.
Last Thursday, Tenney Mountain released a video detailing its offseason investments. In the video below, CEO Steven Kelly walks around the ski resort to show off the work being done, specifically the snowmaking improvements.
Snowmaking upgrades this offseason include installing a new motor pump system, a new mid-mountain pump house, and more than five miles of snowmaking pipe along the Hornet side.
These improvements have allowed Tenney Mountain to add 125 new snow guns. The 2024 offseason improvements will increase Tenney Mountain’s snowmaking capacity fivefold. Tenney has added over 200 new snowmaking guns over the past two seasons, with the 2023 offseason focusing on the Hornet terrain pod.
Trail and glade expansions will also be on the menu this winter. They widened their trails to return their widths to the original 1960s design by 10th Mountain Division Veteran Sam Hall. They also worked on clearing glades over the summer, providing more areas for expert skiers and riders to explore.
Other off-season upgrades include a revised menu at the Backcountry Bar & Grill, new trail signage, an updated trail map, and reclassifying several trails to give beginners more options.
