Colorado’s Purgatory Resort is joining in on the skiing and snowboarding fun this weekend, spinning their lifts on Saturday and Sunday for a “bonus weekend” ahead of their official start to the season.
Purgatory’s daily operations are set to begin as normal on November 16, but after nearly a foot of snowfall in the past 48 hours, the mountain decided to get things going for a few days of skiing and snowboarding. Guests will have to upload and download on Purgatory Express Lift 1 to access skiing off Engineer Lift 2. Both Westfork and El Diablo trails will be open.
“We’re thrilled to offer our guests an extra bonus weekend of early season skiing. Our team is working hard to open for ski season, and we’re off to a great start with Mother Nature’s help. We’re taking full advantage of these early winter conditions to make snow at every opportunity, aiming to have top-to-bottom skiing ready for our official opening day on November 16.” – Dave Rathbun, Purgatory’s General Manager
Lift tickets will be available for purchase online or at the main ticket office at Purgatory Lodge for just $29 a day during this bonus weekend. Plus any 2024/25 season passes will be valid, though no discounts, vouchers, or promotions apply.
Limited guest services will be available at the base, including beer and food, though no lessons or rental equipment will be open. On-mountain services are limited to just bathrooms. Purgatory will be open from 9am to 3:30pm on November 9 and 10, then open daily beginning on their official opening day, November 16, 2024.
Lift tickets, season passes, lodging, and more can be purchased on the Purgatory Resort website.
