Mars Hill, North Carolina — Hatley Pointe is preparing to make its big comeback.

Known for years as Wolf Mountain, the ski resort was on the decline before being bought by the Hatley family. While it didn’t open last winter because the renovations took longer than expected, extensive work continues on the ski resort, which includes lodge renovations and new trails.

However, the comeback trail this summer hasn’t been without roadblocks. Last week, Hatley Pointe reported on its new Instagram account that its previous account got hacked. That account grew to over 100k followers thanks to their informative videos detailing the mountain’s revival. However, Hatley Pointe got locked out of this account and had to start a new one. They’re currently working with Meta (the corporate overlords that run Instagram) to regain access to the account.

For now, that account is locked, and Hatley Pointe is using a backup account, which has around 500 followers. The North Carolina ski resort is still keeping its followers informed on various projects and showcasing how they’ve come over the past year.

It sounds like Southeast skiers and riders have a lot to look forward to when Hatley Pointe reopens this winter.
