24-year-old French Olympic mountain biker Loana Lecomte shared an update on her condition after a horrific crash that left her unconscious on the cross country mountain bike course.
Lecomte was in the bronze medal position when she clipped a rock on her fourth lap through the course and came down hard. Its difficult to say exactly, but it looks like her bike hit her in the back of the head after the initial impact of the crash which is what knocked her unconscious. She was stretched off the course with French fans chanting her name. According to Lecomte she suffered a concussion, major bruising and needed “a few stitches.”
Lecomte plans to rest up and compete at the World Championships at the end of August in the Pyrenees Mountains of Andorra.

The vibe was crazy until the lights went out. Little concussion, major bruises and a few stitches…It could have been much worse.
Time to rest, recover and see you again for the World Championships in a few weeks. A Huge thank you to the staff of the French team, the entire medical team and all the people who support me daily.
