Skijoring has gathered quite a lot of attention over the past several years, with tons of mountain towns hosting their own horse-pulled competitions. But horses are expensive, so it’s not a sport that most people can participate in outside of competition. If you can’t get a horse and you can’t get a dog sled, why not go skijoring behind your dogs?

I don’t know what the ethics behind something like this are like, but these dogs seem to have a fantastic time. And honestly, if I had two huskies, I’d definitely try to get them to do the same thing. I mean, that’s essentially what they were bred to do!

We got 8+ inches of fresh snow overnight! The only downside? Well, it was very wet and heavy snow (as typically happens in May). So, Jack, Rudy and I did an “out & back” skijor on Peak 7 this morning so we could run in our “out tracks” on the way back. But, with the amount and heaviness of the new snow, it was still a workout running in our tracks on the way back. Come along and see for yourselves 🙂
