Are you planning to do a thru-hike in the coming months? For those who don’t know, this is when you do a long-distance, multi-day hiking endeavor that goes through a continuous trail from end to end.

Some examples of long thru-hikes are the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail, and the Continental Divide Trail. Some shorter thru-hikes include the Presidential Traverse in New Hampshire, the Long Trail in Vermont, and the John Muir Trail in California.

YouTuber Oscar Hikes created a video detailing his twenty tips for people who are doing a thru-hike for the first time. The video dives into what kind of gear you should bring for the hike, and what you should eat/drink, among other advice. You can check out Oscar’s video below.
