Another Oregon ski resort has extended its season. Willamette Pass, which was taken over by Mountain Capital Partners last year, announced that they’d be extending their season by two weeks. After closing on April 30th, they’ll reopen on May 6th and 7th, and then May 13th and 14th.
Jessie Perry, who is the spokeswoman for Willamette Pass explained to Statesman Journal as to why they’re extending the season.
“It’s part of our core values that if people want to keep skiing, let’s run the lifts. Staying open as long as possible is going to be a big part of what we do. With the amount of snow we’ve gotten, we’ve continued to see nice crowds. It hasn’t been as busy as earlier in the season but one thing we love is that we continue to see a lot of beginners and first-timers who come up and take advantage of our low prices.”
There will be a variety of lift ticket deals in the coming weeks. Kids aged twelve and under can ski for free, new skiers can get rentals for $19, and there’s a food credit of $10 if you buy a lift ticket online. Lift tickets are only $25-27 for this weekend, and they will be as low as $19 for the final two weekends of the season.
